• This past winter, Artifex flexed its philanthropic muscle by building a beautiful commercial kitchen for First Slice. First Slice is a non-profit Ravenswood organization which feeds high-quality, gourmet meals to homeless teens. Artifex donated field supervision, demolition, dropped ceiling work and cabinetry installation.
• In 2005 Artifex Builders completed a beautiful residence on Hudson Street in old town once inhabited by Chicago Bears founder George Halas.
• Artifex joined the Better Business Bureau in 2007.
• Artifex has recently lent its building expertise to various children's theatrical productions at Hawthorne Scholastic Academy in Lakeview and St. Matthias Church in Lincoln Square.

• Artifex was a primary sponsor of a fine art show at Eastwick Gallery, Chicago, entitled, Tools of Art, featuring abstracted paintings of carpentry tools by Megan Williamson in 2001
