Artifex is able to effectively cut the estimated construction cost for its client by working closely with them every step of the way. By using preferred local vendors for supplies and constantly checking suppliers' quotes against one another, the cost of material goes down. This also gives the client a number of options that leave them flexibility. For example, on this particular project Artifex got samples from Illinois Brick and compared the samples with client's pick of preferred brick color and type before checking for similar colors and types at other suppliers for the best price.

In addition, Artifex saved the client by using utility brick on 3 sides and modular brick, a nicer, more expensive brick, in the front. All-in-all this is less expensive but does not diminish the curb appeal of the house. What made this technique work especially well is that Artifex was even able to match the colors and textures of the two bricks.
